Hospitals have, for the most part, taken a “Not My Problem” approach to the Deficit Reduction Act. They think, “Why should we care since these changes must certainly be good for eliminating competitors?” The answer: Hospitals are up next…and the administrator who chooses to ignore the warning signs does so at its hospital’s financial peril. This article discusses seven reasons why hospitals should be paying closer attention to the medical imaging product lines and taking action now to be more efficient and aggressive in their markets. It also describes the action that astute managers or administrators must take.
